Welcome to the Adam R. Scripps Foundation’s 2025 Annual Report. Our family-led foundation continues to refine and expand its approach to philanthropy, deepening our impact, and honoring Adam’s legacy through thoughtful giving.
As a family-led organization, the foundation blends large-scale vision with family values. Governed by compassion, humility, generosity, and love of neighbor, the family actively participates in the grantmaking process. They focus on multi-year support and flexible funds to empower diverse impact producers. Emphasizing participatory philanthropy, they align funding with community needs by first listening to those they serve. Built on Adam’s commitment to direct impact, the foundation changes lives every day.
When devastating floods struck the Texas Hill Country, the region Adam Scripps called home for decades, the Scripps family and the foundation didn't wait. They mobilized quickly, committing more than $1 million to support the community Adam loved. Being a family-led foundation means more than writing checks from a distance. It means showing up, fast and in force, for the neighbors, first responders, and organizations doing the hard work when disaster strikes.

Signature Investment
The Adam R. Scripps Street Soccer Park: Creating Access, Connecting People, and Transforming Communities
In 2025, the Advisory Board selected Street Soccer USA as a key partner to advance community development and youth opportunity across the nation, committing $3.35 million to bolster programming for youth ages 4 and up, including families experiencing homelessness, adults, and people in recovery. Street Soccer USA focuses its efforts in underserved neighborhoods where roughly a third of residents live below the poverty line and high school graduation rates fall between 55 and 65 percent.
One milestone of that partnership came in February 2026, when Street Soccer USA opened the Adam R. Scripps Park at Horace Mann Middle School in San Diego, part of its national 26 for 2026 initiative. Open to people of all ages, the park offers free clinics, community leagues, mentorship, and life-skills programs, while giving Horace Mann students dedicated access during school hours. Designed as a true community hub, it expands youth sports, strengthens neighborhood connections, and supports individuals overcoming barriers.
The impact will be lasting and far-reaching. By investing in spaces where people can gather, connect, and grow, the Adam R. Scripps Foundation is helping young people and families build confidence, community, and brighter futures, from City Heights to communities across the country.
